13th May 2020
Our Director Marti and the Rev Dr Harriet Harris MBE presented a virtual Compassion Salon workshop for community nurses on Wednesday 13th May 2020 between 19:15 – 20:30 BST.
This workshop considered what we mean by belonging and compassion and how it is relevant under the present challenging circumstances, in our own lives and for those for whom we care. The workshop helped to explore the fears that we all have, but don’t often share and facilitate a compassionate response for ourselves and others. The workshop also drew upon relevant books and poetry that are related to compassion and wellbeing.
Revd Dr Harriet Harris is Chaplain to the University of Edinburgh and Head of the Chaplaincy Service. She is a teacher and researcher, an Honorary Fellow of the Divinity School, Co–Director of the University’s Global Compassion Initiative, and Associate Fellow of the Clinical Educator Programme, delivering compassion training to clinicians in NHS hospitals.
