A Place for Everything: Anna Wilson in conversation with Isabel Losada
Wednesday 29 June 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeAnna Wilson grew up in a house that was loving, even if her mum was ‘a little eccentric’. They knew to keep things clean, to stay quiet, and to look the other way when things started to get ‘a bit much for your mum’.
It’s only when her mother reached her 70s, and Anna had a family of her own, that the cracks really started to appear. More manic. More irrational. More detached from the world. And when her father, the man who calmed and cajoled her mother through her entire life, became unwell, the whole world turned upside down.
In this salon, Anna and Isabel discuss Anna’s biography A Place for Everything – my mother, autism and me, which tells the story of her mother’s undiagnosed autism, speaking frankly about what life was like, about the person behind the disorder, those big unspoken family truths, and what it means to care for our parents in their final years.

Isabel shows that all the actions we can take in order to live a 1.5 degree lifestyle, and help our planet, are also those which will most enrich our lives. It’s also the only book about environmentalism that makes the reader laugh and won the ‘Best Overall Book on Sustainability 2022’ at The Independent.
